FAQs

HOW ARE THE STYLISTS TRAINED?

We start every stylist at the shampoo sink no matter how many years of cutting and styling experience they have. Once they show they have a good understanding of curly product knowledge we train in cutting, coloring and styling techniques for curls. All of our training is done in the salon.

DOES THE STYLIST DOING MY HAIR HAVE CURLY HAIR?

No, not always. We believe in embracing your natural beauty and some of our stylist have naturally straight hair but they are highly trained to take care of all hair textures.

WHAT LINE OF PRODUCTS DOES THE SALON CARRY?

Many, there are so many great choices now for curly girls but not one company has every thing we are looking for. Curlfection,Ouidad, Innersense, It’s A Ten, Moracan Oil just to name a few and there is even more available in our online store that we don’t have room for in salon.

HOW MANY YEARS EXPERIENCE DO THE STYLISTS HAVE?

It varies, everyone has at least several years. The most important thing is that they share our philosophy and their cutting and styling meet our expectations.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE WITH A DRY CUT?

A dry cut is done for the natural curl pattern and flow of your hair. We can see where curls and waves will fall after your hair dries. We blend each curl into the next so your curls fall in a flattering way for you. Please be prepared to be here at least 1 1/2 hours for a first visit.

WHAT MAKES YOUR COLORING DIFFERENT?

Our highlighting techniques are done to enhance your individual curl by following your unique curl pattern. Our color line Goldwell is infused with panthenol and is very gentle to curls to keep them looking healthy and shiny. The hairs integrity and health are our top priority.

WHY IS IT NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FIRST TIME CURLY GIRLS TO GET BLOWN OUT?

Education – how to apply product and techniques for applying – are very important and we want to make sure that you know what to do when you get home. We additionally want to see how the curls fall when dry so we can make any adjustments to the curly cut if necessary.

I BLOW MY HAIR OUT AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH, CAN I STILL GET A CURLY CUT?

Absolutely, just let your stylist know so they may make adjustments to the cut.

WHY ARE CHILDRENS HAIRCUTS THE SAME PRICE AS ADULT CUTS?

We find we need the same amount of time for children as we do adults sometimes even more time. Please be prepared to be here for at least 1 1/2 hours.

A note from Stylist to Parents: A child’s hair texture can sometimes be more than they can reasonably handle on their own. We highly recommend being present during your child’s services especially during product application. It is a great help to your child that you have a thorough understanding and can reinforce and help in between visits to the salon.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET A CUT?

To keep curls healthy we recommend no more than 12 weeks between cuts, even if you are growing it out. Split ends keep splitting until they are trimmed off and keeping them off promotes growth. After 12 weeks a haircuts shape changes and it will becomes harder to style. Please book for a maintenance curly cut.

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU TAKE?

Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover & Cash. We will use your credit card to hold the appointment. You can pay any way you preffer on day of service.
